Southern Spaces
A journal about real and imagined spaces and places of the US South and their global connections

1)  I love to steal a while away
From ev'ry cumb'ring care,
And spend the hours of setting day,
In humble, grateful, pray'r.

2)  I love in solitude to shed
the penitential tear,
And all His promises to plead,
Where none but God can hear.

Chorus:

I want to go, I want to go,
I want to go there too;
I want to go where Jesus is,
I want to go there too.

5) Thus, when life's toil some day is o'er,
May its departing ray,
Be calm as this impressive hour,
And lead to endless day.

Chorus:
